The days in LA have been warm since the end of winter, but I know summer is here when the evening breeze stays warm into the late night.

And so we walk. Summer nights of walking the expanse of the city, up and down hilly neighborhoods, through parks, downtown, uptown, all over.

The bed of lotus flowers at Echo Park Lake is something to see. The flower buds are beginning to bloom, and their leaves are as big as elephant ears with heads of lotus seeds springing up like one end of telephone receivers.
