Sinking

I receive the intangible more precious than gold,
And rather than leaving it on the shore of my mind,
Where the ebb and flow of my consciousness lap at its ends occasionally,
Where at long periods of low tide I live as though I were poor,
I long to take it to the deep waters of the heart
Where not the tide, the waves, nor the winds can ever move it,
And let it sink to the depths of my soul
To become an anchor for all afloat above the waters.

Our life always expresses the result of our dominant thoughts. - Kierkegaard
